Integrations
Bring worldgdp.org nowcasts into the AI assistants and tools you already use. One free connector (Model Context Protocol) works with every assistant below, and through your assistant with your spreadsheets, databases, BI and docs.
https://mcp.worldgdp.org/mcp
Free, no account or key. Streamable HTTP transport. Fair use: 60 requests per minute per user.
No match. Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers works: see Other below.
Direct = the app connects to worldgdp itself. Via your assistant = add worldgdp and that app's own connector to the same assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor…); the assistant moves the data with your permission. worldgdp.org never sees your accounts. Product names and logos belong to their owners and do not imply endorsement.
Connect
- Open Settings, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector.
- Name it
worldgdpand paste the address above as the URL. Leave authentication empty. - Enable it in a chat from the tools menu, then ask away.
- Open Settings, then Connectors (custom connectors may need developer mode, depending on your plan).
- Create a connector with the address above as the MCP server URL and no authentication.
- Select it in a new chat.
Run once in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http worldgdp https://mcp.worldgdp.org/mcpAdd to .cursor/mcp.json (or Settings → MCP → Add server):
{
"mcpServers": {
"worldgdp": { "url": "https://mcp.worldgdp.org/mcp" }
}
}
With the official MCP SDK (pip install mcp):
import asyncio
from mcp import ClientSession
from mcp.client.streamable_http import streamablehttp_client
async def main():
async with streamablehttp_client("https://mcp.worldgdp.org/mcp") as (r, w, _):
async with ClientSession(r, w) as s:
await s.initialize()
res = await s.call_tool("get_nowcast", {"economy": "us"})
print(res.content[0].text)
asyncio.run(main())
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP: use the address above. For clients that only run local servers, bridge it with mcp-remote:
{
"mcpServers": {
"worldgdp": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://mcp.worldgdp.org/mcp"] }
}
}
Try asking
- "What is the latest world GDP nowcast, and which economies are driving it?"
- "How has the US nowcast for this quarter changed, and which data releases moved it?"
- "Compare euro area and UK growth this quarter, with their uncertainty ranges."
- "Which data releases this week could move the nowcasts?"
- "How accurate is the China model? Show its grade and version history."
- "Is US activity speeding up or slowing down this week? Compare the Weekly Economic Pulse across countries."
What it can look up
| Tool | Returns |
|---|---|
list_economies | Every economy and region: current nowcast, 70% range, share of world GDP, accuracy grade. |
get_nowcast | One economy: headline nowcast, range, days to the official release, daily path, component contributions and the latest data releases with their impact. |
get_aggregate | World or a region: nowcast, coverage and each economy's contribution. |
get_release_calendar | Upcoming data releases feeding the nowcasts. |
get_track_record | Accuracy grade, model version history and backtest errors by horizon. |
get_weekly_pulse | Weekly Economic Pulse: latest weekly activity reading for every covered economy, or one economy's weekly history. |
Economies use short codes (us, cn, jp, de, fr, uk, …) and aggregates use slugs (world, europe, european-union, euro-area, north-america, …); list_economies returns the full list. Growth is % q/q at a seasonally adjusted annual rate; data refresh daily after 07:00 UTC.
